Relief for Venezuela: California Design Den X Delivering Good
Devastating earthquakes in Venezuela this past June led to thousands of people losing their lives, and even more being displaced from their homes. Our partner California Design Den made an incredible donation of bedding for families and individuals who have lost so much. We got the chance to speak to California Design Den Founder and CEO, Deepak Mehrotra, about the donation.

What inspired CA Design Den to respond so quickly to support individuals and families impacted by the Venezuela earthquake with a donation to Delivering Good?
We saw the news and thought about our own team's families back home — earthquakes like this don't wait for anyone to plan a response. Delivering Good made it easy to move fast, so we did. When people lose everything, the basics can't wait.
Your team is donating approximately 10 pallets of products and placing an additional order specifically for this effort. Why was it important to go above and beyond your existing inventory?
10 pallets from our warehouse felt like a start, not enough. Families rebuilding don't just need one set of sheets — they need enough to actually get back to normal life. We placed the extra order because "we helped" shouldn't mean "we did the minimum."
How does disaster response and giving back fit into CA Design Den's broader company values?
We're a family business before we're a company. We built California Design Den on the idea that comfort shouldn't be a luxury — that applies just as much in a crisis as it does on a store shelf. Showing up when it's hard is just an extension of why we started this in the first place.
As a home textiles brand, how do you think products like bedding and other essential home goods can help families begin to recover after a disaster?
People forget that recovery isn't just shelter — it's the first night your kids sleep somewhere that feels safe again. A clean bed and real linens bring a sense of routine back into a home faster than almost anything else. It's a small thing that signals life is starting to move forward.
