October 2026

Ahead of our 2026 Gala on November 4th, we spoke with Eliot Rosenfield, Executive Vice President of Merchandising at Burlington and DG board member, and Chris Miller, Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer at Burlington. Burlington and Delivering Good have a long-term partnership, which has impacted the lives of countless people across the country and been instrumental in fulfilling our mission of delivering new merchandise to individuals and families in need. At our upcoming gala, Burlington CEO Michael O'Sullivan will be honored with the Vanguard Award, which recognizes an individual who combines a passion for business and philanthropy through their leadership.

Read on to see our conversation with Eliot and Chris about the importance of giving back, memorable career advice, and the future of Burlington and Delivering Good's partnership.

You have been a Delivering Good board member for several years. What initially inspired you to get involved with our organization and its mission of providing new essentials to people facing hardship and disaster?

Eliot: Having spent most of my career in retail, I've always believed that our industry has a unique ability to help people in meaningful ways. Early in my involvement with Delivering Good, I was struck by how effectively the organization connects the resources of retailers and brands with individuals and families facing real need.

What inspired me most was seeing the direct impact that something as simple as a new coat, a pair of shoes, or other essential items can have on a person's life. These are things many of us take for granted, but they can make an enormous difference for someone experiencing hardship or recovering from a disaster. Delivering Good combines compassion with action, and that mission resonates with me immediately.

Over the years, serving on the board has only reinforced that belief. I've had the opportunity to see firsthand how Delivering Good responds to both everyday challenges and moments of crisis, providing not just essentials, but comfort, dignity, and hope. It's been incredibly rewarding to be part of an organization that creates such a tangible impact in communities across the country.

What is one piece of advice you have received that has stayed with you throughout your career?

Chris: One piece of advice that has stayed with me is: never lose sight of the people behind the numbers.

In business, it's important to measure performance and focus on results, but lasting success is ultimately built on relationships, trust, and people. Whether you're leading a team, serving customers, or working with community partners, taking the time to listen and understand different perspectives lead to better decisions and stronger outcomes.

That advice has shaped how I've approached leadership throughout my career and continues to guide me today, both at Burlington and in my work with Delivering Good.

Burlington and Delivering Good have had a long-standing partnership for several years, including working together to deliver tens of thousands of units of apparel a year to families and individuals across the country. Why is it important for Burlington to be involved with giving back to communities in need?

Chris: Giving back is important because the communities we serve are at the heart of everything we do. Burlington's customers, associates, and neighbors are the same people who can be affected by economic challenges, natural disasters, and unexpected hardships.

Our partnership with Delivering Good allows us to extend our purpose beyond our stores and support people in a tangible way. It's something our associates are proud of, and it's a reminder that when businesses and nonprofits work together, we can help address real needs in our communities.

We are so grateful for the partnership between Burlington and Delivering Good. Looking forward, what excites you most about the future of the impact we can make together?

Eliot: What excites me most is that we continue to find new ways to help more people. The need for essential goods remains significant, and Delivering Good has consistently demonstrated an ability to meet those needs with creativity, efficiency, and compassion.

Our partnership has already helped provide warmth and support to countless individuals and families, but I believe there's even more opportunity ahead. By bringing together the resources of the retail industry and the expertise of Delivering Good, we can expand our reach, respond to emerging needs, and create an even greater impact in communities across the country.

Most importantly, I'm excited about what happens when people come together around a shared purpose. That's what has made this partnership so successful, and it's what gives me confidence about the future.
