Gary Simmons
Gary Simmons is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Gerber Childrenswear LLC, one of the nation’s leading marketers of infant and toddler apparel. He joined Gerber in 2005 as President and became CEO in 2007, leading the company through public, private equity, and family ownership before retiring in 2018. He continues to serve on the Intradeco Board of Directors. Previously, Simmons led the merger of Healthtex and H.H. Cutler into VF Playwear, serving as President from 1993 to 2004. His career began in retail buying with Shillitos and Gimbels before joining Healthtex in 1980, where he advanced through sales, marketing, and executive leadership roles.
Simmons has served on advisory boards for UNCG, NC State, and the University of Cincinnati, and held leadership positions with the AAFA for 10 years and Delivering Good for 23 years. He currently serves as Treasurer of the Jewish Foundation of Greensboro and District Director for SCORE North Carolina.
A graduate of the University of Cincinnati with degrees in marketing and finance, Simmons resides in Greensboro, North Carolina, with his wife, Sue and family today.
