Abbey Doneger is CEO and Chairman of Doneger|Tobe a company founded by his father, Henry, in 1946. After joining the firm in 1973, Abbey became President in 1980 and CEO in 1995. He has overseen all company operations, including building client and industry relationships, corporate strategic planning, and new business development. Under his leadership, the company grew to become the industry’s most prominent fashion, trend and retail merchandising advisory firm, primarily through the creativity and talent of its extraordinary team and the comprehensive offering of services. 

Today Doneger|Tobe (Tobe was founded in 1927 and acquired by The Doneger Group in 2005) researches, analyzes and evaluates all segments of the apparel, accessory and footwear markets, both at wholesale and retail, in womenswear, menswear and childrenswear and operates as a full-service agency offering customized design related services. 

Among his philanthropic and civic affiliations, Abbey serves as a board member to the American Apparel and Footwear Association (AAFA), Delivering Good, Fashion Institute of Technology Foundation and the Fashion Scholarship Fund. Past honors include recognition by the Joel Finkelstein Cancer Foundation, United Jewish Appeal, Kids in Distressed Situations/Fashion Delivers and Delivering Good. In November 2006, The Company celebrated its 60th anniversary with a reception at the Fashion Institute of Technology. The event raised funds in support of the Henry and Rita Doneger Scholarship Fund, which benefits FIT students, and has funded a computer lab and accessories design studio dedicated to the memory of Henry Doneger. 

Abbey is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts. He lives in Rye, New York with his wife, Valerie. Abbey and Valerie have three sons, Adam (Rachel), Jason (Amanda), and Michael (Dominik) and seven grandchildren.
