At Delivering Good, we believe in the power of new merchandise to transform lives. Today, we’re excited to share insights from one of our newest board members, Rob Brooks, Chief Operating Officer, Saks Global. We are excited to welcome Rob to our Delivering Good board and look forward to all that we can do together. We took a moment to get to know Rob a bit better in this interview.
What do you feel makes Delivering Good unique compared to other charitable organizations, and why do you believe in our mission to provide new merchandise to those in need?
Through Delivering Good and its vast network of community partners, donated merchandise goes directly and immediately to those who need it most. I love that Delivering Good’s mission is centered around providing hope, dignity and self-esteem. It’s not just about the merchandise – at the end of the day, the ultimate goal is to provide adults, children and families facing challenges or adversity with necessary items to help take that next step in overcoming their circumstances and reaching their full potential. It is a powerful mission that is rooted in a deep desire to make a difference.
Can you share how you hope to make a difference as a board member of Delivering Good?
Over the past few months, I’ve found that by spending just a few minutes talking to someone about Delivering Good’s mission and work, they become hooked. It’s a cause that is easy to believe in, root for and want to support. And there are meaningful ways for any individual or organization to get involved. I’m eager to bring awareness to the organization through my reach and platform, both throughout the retail community and across other industries. There’s so much potential in continuing to strengthen our impact and expand our scope. It’s just the beginning, and I’m proud to be part of this journey.
Delivering Good helps transform the lives of people in poverty, those recovering after a disaster, re-entering the workforce, and more through new product donations in order to provide hope and dignity. What excites you the most about giving back through Delivering Good?
To me, it’s very personal – I’m passionate about this work and the potential to make a difference for those in my community and for so many in need. It’s also about my family. I want to share this experience with my family and find hands-on ways to make an impact together, whether we’re attending events on the weekend or showing up to help and support our community partners. We are fortunate to be in a position to give back and help provide hope and dignity to those who need it most, and I could not be more excited to introduce this incredible organization and its work to those around me.
